Poker is a game of chance in which players bet into a pot of chips. The player with the best hand wins the pot. Typically, each player is dealt a card face down and may choose to keep or discard the remainder. Players must make a bet in one round. This is known as a “call” or a “drop”. There are several variations of the game, including community card poker, three-card monte, and stud poker. Each variant has its own rules and methods of dealing. Some variants have betting intervals. One or more bets are made during each betting interval.<\/p>\n

The winning hand is the hand with the best combination of cards. This is usually the most impressive hand to see and to hold. For instance, an overpair (a pair greater than sevens) beats a straight flush.<\/p>\n
It is also possible to bet or raise without showing your cards. A good rule of thumb is to only do so if you are in the mood for a bit of bluffing.<\/p>\n
