Types of Poker


There are several different types of poker, each with their own rules. A game of poker can have as few as two players or as many as ninety. Each player can have as many chips in the pot as they’d like, but the optimal number is six to eight. In poker, the entire amount bet by the players in a single deal is called the pot. The highest-ranking poker hand wins the pot. Another way to win the pot is to be the first player to make a bet without anyone else calling.

During betting rounds, all but one player can fold their hand. The remaining player collects the pot without revealing their hand. The game of Poker has stakes, which are generally agreed upon at the start of the game. After the final betting round, the winning player receives the pot.
